I had this new beautiful sketchbook “hand.book” by Global Art Materials but it didn’t seem to take watercolors very well; the paper warped too much for my liking and I couldn’t harness the pigment spread well. Prisma pencils were requiring a little too much work– you know, a lot of back and forth strokes; so lucky me, I happened to have packed a couple of Pilot Precise V7 rolling ball pens. I started by roughly composing and correcting with graphite–just laying in the basic structure without getting into too much detail. When I started inking in the values, I seemed to work fast because I could just barely get 2-3 stroke weights. I really liked that they look like etchings.
